About Us

Picture of Louisa & Bill Chapman at the Farm

We are a wife/husband partnership owning 26 acres near Castlegar, BC. Our farm integrates simple technology with sophisticated understanding to produce pesticide-free crops. We use wick irrigation in our 95-foot SolaWrap-covered greenhouse and ridge and furrow cultivation in our fields.

Herbs, garlic and tree fruits complement our main crops of squash, basil and heirloom tomatoes. We are working with earthworms and deciduous trees to develop and maintain brown wooded soils for our crop land and transition our forested land to less fire susceptible, more productive hardwoods.

Our intention is to establish a legacy of fruit and nut trees that will flourish now and for future generations.

Our Vision

Our Vision is to increase our productivity by bringing most of our arable land (10 acres) into production and increasing the efficiency of our existing developments.

Our Mission is to transition much of our additional 16 acres from coniferous to hardwood forest.

Where to Buy our Produce

Ferraro Foods in Trail and Rossland are excellent supporters of local producers and for the past 6 years they have purchased 1000s of pounds of our squash throughout the growing season. Ferraro Foods, Trail, welcomes weekly harvests of our basil from June to October.
